He’s made a name for himself spinning at DC Fab!’s Party of the Year, Goodlife Tuesdays at Recess Lounge, now Spinser Tracy is headed to Orlando to represent D.C. in the Red Bull Thre3Style Competition.
On Wednesday night, spinners from all four quadrants (and some MD people. Don’t worry, we won’t tell!) competed inside Howard Theatre to take props and bragging rights for the Red Bull sponsored dee jay challenge. Deejays including Amen Ra, DJ Alizay, (whose mixtape I still play on my iPod), DJ Geometrix, KC from Fatback, PHLIPZ, DJ Trayze, DJ Tech all took to the wheels of steel.
And after the crowd jammed to songs like Future‘s “Same Damn Time” and Rihanna‘s “Where Have You Been” not to mention that go-go classic “Overnight Scenario” the competition was slimmed down to three: DJ Alizay, DJ Trayze and Spinser Tracy.
